Solar
It's up there shining every day, delivering massive amounts of energy--for free--yet you pay a monthly energy bill or two to import the same thing falling on your roof every hour the sun shines. Resource Consultants' foray into the renewable energy field came in 2008 with an invitation from the USDA. That first year, under very short notice, we were able to find and assist in funding seven projects in Oregon. In 2009 and 2010, Resource Consultants assisted 43 projects with funding through the USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). We have expanded our reach into other states along the west coast and now have over 50 REAP-funded solar projects in the Western states. Resource Consultants is committed to helping your municipality, business, farm or ranch access all funding opportunities currently available. |

Water
Currently, the use of water to generate electricity represents the lion's share of renewable electricity production. Resource Consultants works with irrigation districts, municipalities and developers to access this important resource on small to mid-sized hydroelectric projects. |

Wind
Wind blows--just not everywhere. If you need assistance with project feasibility, we can help. We have experience providing project assessment and funding solutions for small wind projects. |

Biomass
Renewable energy from this source is still number one, mostly due to its use as heating fuel. There is a diversity of biomass potential and technologies out there yet to be realized. We believe biomass has the greatest potential for near-term future growth. The federal government is investing research dollars into this area, and we should see some technological breakthroughs in biofuel development, both from algal and cellulosic sources. We also see a great potential for methane gas capture from animal and human waste streams that mitigate current liabilities and can generate revenue at the same time. We have done research and feasibility studies as well as funding solutions for many different types of biomass projects, including biofuel from algal sources, biodigestion, pyrolysis, biochar, distillation and gasification. A couple common denominators with successful projects in this area are raw material supply and marketable co-products from post energy waste streams. |

Geothermal
Very area specific, geothermal energy is finding renewed interest as binary cycle power generating technology is able to generate energy at low temperature sites and a more diverse range of system sizes is available. Great strides are being made in mapping the areas that hold this resource and developing more cost effective exploration methodologies, which is the most costly aspect of resource development. |
